Rimmel London 107 Lipstick - I love this perfect fall color! Even though the lipstick tends to come off quickly, it has been my favorite color lately. Added bonus: it was only $5 at Target! Head over to my Instagram to see what the color looks like on.

Jergens Natural Glow - With the change in weather, I usually lose my summer sun-kissed skin (aka my still pale completion since I wear tons of sunscreen). But, with this after shower moisturizer I can keep that summer glow year round! My only complaint is when I first started using it, it looked blotchy until I used it enough to build up full coverage.
Backpack Purses - I have never ever liked backpack purses. I always thought backpacks were meant for school, not shopping... but boy was I wrong! I picked up a backpack purse for our trip to LA last weekend and I seriously love it! It is perfect to hold all of my stuff and it takes the weight off of just one shoulder. I think I might actually purchase another backpack purse in the future.
London Fog Lattes - When the seasons start to change, I find that my morning drink starts to change as well. I usually transition from coffee to tea for the fall. My go-to Starbucks drink is now a London Fog Latte! A London Fog is earl grey tea, steamed milk and vanilla syrup. If you haven't tried one yet, I highly recommend it.
Apple Watch - I finally picked up an Apple Watch for my birthday and I love it! I was pretty iffy on getting one because I already had a Fitbit; but after talking to my friend and trying her's on, I decided I really wanted to get one. It is really nice to see your notifications and be able to text people back from your watch. I also love using the "breathe" function twice a day and the fitness apps work great. I am still trying to figure out all of the functions but so far it is an amazing little wearable device!
Honorable Mentions:
Shows - Stranger Things and Riverdale
Food - candy corn, apple pie and soup
Adventure is Out There: San Diego Edition
Friday, October 27 • adventure, advice, california, hiking, quick guide, round up, san diego, san diego blogger, travel
About six months ago, my husband and I moved to San Diego and have been exploring something new whenever we have the chance! So, in today’s post I want to share a few tourist things I have done recently that have been a lot of fun.
One of the best things about moving around is all the new experiences and adventures you get to go on. I can’t stress enough how you need to get out of your comfort zone and explore the world around you. It will definitely give you a new perspective and change your life. Moving to San Diego was quite a drastic change from our little town of Milton, FL and it was really hard to adapt to the change at first. We didn’t know what to do on the weekends or where to get our groceries, and we were definitely not used to the “Cali lifestyle.” So, we got out and we explored! We have already made so many new memories and are determined to leave here saying "wow, San Diego was great!"
So without further adu, here are 4 things to do while visiting San Diego:
Enjoying Disneyland with my amazing friends Katie and Jill while they visited from Washington. |
Disneyland – Okay, so I know this one isn’t in San Diego but its my favorite place on Earth! It is about an hour and a half drive up to Anaheim from San Diego so it isn’t too bad for a day trip. Usually I try to get there 30 min before the park opens and stay to watch World of Color or the fireworks and then head home. It does make for a long day but it is 100% worth it.
Biking riding and getting smoothies with Ryan, Hannah and Daniel while Ryan and Hannah were visiting over Spring Break. |
Bike Riding on Coronado Island – This is an activity that I have actually done three times now because I love it so much. My favorite place to rent bikes is Kruiser King in downtown Coronado. Their beach bike rental is $7 per hour or $20 per day. I really love renting bikes because you can ride them down to the Hotel Del Coronado and then along the beach, or you can ride through the neighborhoods and see the beautiful houses. As some of you know, I’m obsessed with HGTV so riding around and looking at houses is the highlight of my day!
Enjoyed a delicious meal at Cafe Gratitude with my Military Spouse friends. |
Eat – There are soooooo many good places to eat here! I could make a whole post on my favorite places to eat here but I’ll try to keep it to my top 3 (that I have tried so far). In no particular order, I have loved eating at: Buon Appetito in Little Italy, Café Gratitude in Little Italy and Havana Grill in Clairemont. Each restaurant is quite different so it really depends on the type of food you're looking for; but they are all delicious!
Hanging out on Potato Chip Rock with my friend Rachel when she was visiting from Pensacola. |
Hike - San Diego has some great trails to hike! There are trails for everything from a nice walk along the cliffs to a 7 mile trek up the mountains. For beginners, Torrey Pines is great! It offers beautiful views while not being too challenging of a hike. On the other hand, Potato Chip Rock is pretty tough. If you do the backside of the hike you gain about 2,000 ft in elevation in just 2-3 miles (it was killer on the legs)! My personal favorite hike is Cowles Mountain. It is a good workout while not being too strenuous; and offers beautiful views of the entire city at the top. I think no matter what trail you do, you won't be disappointed by hiking in San Diego!
SeaWorld San Diego

Flamingos are my spirit animal |
Riding the Manta ride |
Taking a ride in the Observatory Tower - also rocking the shark tooth necklace |
Last weekend, we went to explore SeaWorld in San Diego. We had so much fun! Most of our time was spent looking at all of the animal exhibits but we also got to watch the Dolphin Show, Pets Show and ride their two roller coasters. We both loved the Manta roller coaster that makes you feel like you're a manta ray. The observatory tower was also pretty neat because you could see all of San Diego from the top of the tower! To end the day, and celebrate Daniel's birthday, we had dinner with Shamu! The food was absolutely delicious and it was cool to get to experience SeaWorld training hands on. We got to see the trainers do a few exercises with the orcas and interact with the beautiful animals. It was cute how happy the orcas were when their trainer was petting them or feeding them treats. Overall, it was a great day! If you ever get the chance, I would recommend making a day trip.
I also wanted to share some info on the "Waves of Honor" program that allows active duty military members, and up to 3 dependents, free admission to the park once a year (click here for more information). This is the program we used for our special day in the park!
Below are a few photos from our favorite exhibits! Enjoy!
Coffee Date
Wednesday, April 5 • about me, coffee date, milso, naval aviator, navy wife, navy-life, round up
Hey friends! Please forgive my long absence and join me, at your leisure, on my “coffee date” blog post. I hope you can take a break, sit down with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage and catch up with me...
First of all, a month ago, my husband, Daniel, earned and received his Wings of Gold. After almost two years of training, Daniel is officially a Naval Aviator. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the aviation community, earning one’s “Wings” is a milestone accomplishment (I have a timeline posted in my earlier blog post). During this same timeframe, our wonderful parents came down to visit us and celebrate the occasion. It was so much fun because we got to venture around Pensacola and play “tourist” with them for a week! It was a great time showing them around our “home town” before we moved. Also, they were very helpful with everything around the house, which made the stress of moving much easier! That same weekend was also Mardi Gras so we all celebrated that as well. If you want to experience Mardi Gras, without the New Orleans craziness, I’d recommend Pensacola. There were three different parades with massive floats, lots of awesome live music, and a multitude of bright and colorful beads. Additionally, in Pensacola, these celebrations were all family friendly.
Next up, we received orders to move to San Diego, California. Daniel’s orders gave us two weeks to move. We were fortunate in that the movers were able to help us pack everything and then transport almost all of our belongings across the country. At the same time, Daniel and I drove our cars, Jack (our dog) and Nala (our cat) from Florida to California. Along the way, we saw some fun towns and landmarks which made the drive more fun and interesting. As for Jack and Nala, they were out of their crates and comfortably slept in the back seat of Daniel’s truck most of the way. Jack was a little restless at times but for a six-month old puppy, he was great. We were very proud of our furry babies!
When we arrived in San Diego, we had a hotel room but no house. Finding housing here is very difficult because the average home is only on the rental market for about five days. Nevertheless, upon arriving in San Diego, we scheduled five home viewing appointments. After just viewing the first home on our list, we learned that we qualified (early) for coveted base housing! We also had the pleasure of having my brother, Ryan, and his girlfriend, Hannah, come to visit us during our first week. In between house hunting, we got to explore San Diego with them and go to Disneyland, which made our first week in the area that much better!
Fast forward to now. Our movers delivered our furniture and boxes, the furniture has been set up, the boxes unpacked and now we just have to organize things. So far, we are loving our new home and are very grateful! Daniel is beginning his next phase of the Navy flight program and I’m enjoying being a stay-at-home wife while looking for jobs. I would like to get back into blogging since there are so many things I’d love to share. I’d love to know what y’all would like to see on the blog in the future so if you have any input, please email me or comment below.
Thanks for joining me on this crazy “coffee date!” I hope you have a good week ahead and I'll do my best to write more soon.
6 Last Min Valentine's Day Gifts
Saturday, February 11 • attire, fashion, gifts, girly, graphic art, quick guide, round up, southern belle
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! For those of you, like me, who haven't gotten their gifts for the special day yet, this is a quick guide. Most of these can be picked up in your local department store or shipped to you by Tuesday if you order today and pick fast shipping.
1. Heart Sweatshirt - Get her a cute sweatshirt that she can wear out but also wear while relaxing on the couch during movie night.
2. Heels - You can never go wrong with a cute pair of shoes for that special girl in your life. If you don't know her size, ask her friends!
3. Phone Case - This is simple yet thoughtful. I personally love phone covers so I think it is a good gift if you want to get her something special but not too expensive. This, paired with flowers, is also a great last min gift.
4. Necklace - Pick up a cute necklace from a little boutique and you're bound to see her smile this Valentine's Day. Pay attention to what colors she wears a lot and if she likes bold or simple necklaces.
5. Her Favorite Lipstick - This one might be a little more challenging if you don't know what her favorite lipstick is. If you aren't totally sure, get a gift receipt so she can exchange it.
6. Dress - If you're planning a nice night out then give her a dress she can wear to it! A cute idea is to give her the dress, tell her to wear it that night, and then surprise her with a night on the town. Its also a plus if she can wear the dress more than once!
Remember, sometimes its the smallest, most thoughtful gifts, that mean the most to the special person in your life. :) I hope y'all have a wonderful day! Let me know in the comments what you would love to get for Valentine's Day.
Weekend Roundup: Seafood Festival
Sunday, October 2 • adventure, florida, photography, quick guide, review, round up, southern belle, travel
This past weekend, Daniel and I ventured into Pensacola for Seafood Festival. We had a lot of fun at this festival downtown! Apparently October and November are "festival season" in Pensacola because it actually cools down enough to be outside during the day. If anyone finds themselves in Pensacola during Seafood Fest, I highly recommend it! Here is a little photo round up of the weekend...
I had Mahi Mahi tacos with a classic Bud Light |
Daniel had 3/4 lbs of shrimp with corn and potatoes. He also tried one of Pensacola's draft beers. |
Sitting on the curb enjoying Seafood Fest |
This weekend we also spent some time decorating our house for Halloween and planting flowers in our front garden. Even though we don't get real Fall in Florida, it has been cooling down lately which is so nice! It makes me happy to finally be planting flowers and decorating our house for the holidays. Happy Fall Y'all :)
Name Change After the Wedding
Social security: Do this first thing because it will take awhile. Bring marriage license, old social security card and birth certificate or passport.
DMV: Be sure to update your license and voter registration. Bring your marriage license and old drivers license.
*Military only* Dependent ID Card: This is huge! Make sure you go into the base ID office and get your ID card as soon as possible. This will get you enrolled in DEERS. Bring your marriage license, birth certificate and drivers license or passport.
Auto Licensing: Update both your registration and title. If a bank owns your title make sure you contact them to get it updated. You will need your original registration, marriage license and drivers license.
IRS: Make sure you update all of your information at work to match your new name. Update the pay system and your tax exemption status to make sure you have no issues when tax season comes. Your company will notify the IRS of the change. Supply them with your new social security card.
Passport: This will need to be done at your local post office or through the mail. You need a photo, birth certificate, marriage license and either a license or current passport.
Loans - student, car, mortgage: I'm not totally sure how to change your car loan or mortgage name but I know for student loans you need to mail in a copy of your marriage license and new social security card.
Bank Accounts: It is much easier to do this in a branch. Just take your marriage license in, show your new ID and get a new debit card.
Other: These are other things you need to change your name on but I'm still in the process so I don't know exactly what is needed. For insurance we ended up changing companies so I just needed my new license number. Bills, subscriptions, airline frequent flier miles, reward cards and social media should just need your license and possibly marriage license.
Well, if you are reading this because you just got married then congratulations!! If you're reading this for fun, I hope you enjoyed it. If anyone has any questions, shoot me an email and I'll try to help you to the best of my ability. Thanks for reading y'all!

My favorite trend is the white shoe trend! Everywhere I go, I see white shoes. If you haven't already, make sure you have a pair in your closet. I'm absolutely loving the Adidas Superstar sneakers because they remind me of middle school and are so comfy! I also love having a pair of white sandals in my closet to complete any look. Below you can click on the words to pick up some of these adorable shoes -
Adidas Superstar // Converse // Flats (I'm also loving snake skin flats this season!) // Sandals // Keds

I hope you enjoy pairing your white shoes with the perfect outfit this season!
Beach Hair, Don't Care

This past weekend, my mom got the chance to visit us and we had a lot of fun! Here is a quick photo recap of the weekend...
We started the weekend off by having dinner at a restaurant in Downtown Pensacola called Taco Mez. I had a hibiscus martini and a "fancy ass taco" that were both delicious! I highly reccomend the place to those who live in or visit Pensacola because it was good food for a good price too.
We got up early on Saturday morning and headed down to the beach. While at the beach we got the chance to rent mopeds and ride them around the island! It was so much fun to drive around the little town and we found a really good place to eat lunch (Juana's Pagodas). After mopeds, we decided to rent kayaks and went kayaking on the ocean. Kayaking on the ocean is so much harder than kayaking on a lake! When we were fully exhausted we headed home. That night, my mom and I went to a froyo place by my house and enjoyed a cup of froyo together before she had to head back to Washington. I am so thankful for all of the fun we had last weekend!
