Rimmel London 107 Lipstick - I love this perfect fall color! Even though the lipstick tends to come off quickly, it has been my favorite color lately. Added bonus: it was only $5 at Target! Head over to my Instagram to see what the color looks like on.

Jergens Natural Glow - With the change in weather, I usually lose my summer sun-kissed skin (aka my still pale completion since I wear tons of sunscreen). But, with this after shower moisturizer I can keep that summer glow year round! My only complaint is when I first started using it, it looked blotchy until I used it enough to build up full coverage.
Backpack Purses - I have never ever liked backpack purses. I always thought backpacks were meant for school, not shopping... but boy was I wrong! I picked up a backpack purse for our trip to LA last weekend and I seriously love it! It is perfect to hold all of my stuff and it takes the weight off of just one shoulder. I think I might actually purchase another backpack purse in the future.
London Fog Lattes - When the seasons start to change, I find that my morning drink starts to change as well. I usually transition from coffee to tea for the fall. My go-to Starbucks drink is now a London Fog Latte! A London Fog is earl grey tea, steamed milk and vanilla syrup. If you haven't tried one yet, I highly recommend it.
Apple Watch - I finally picked up an Apple Watch for my birthday and I love it! I was pretty iffy on getting one because I already had a Fitbit; but after talking to my friend and trying her's on, I decided I really wanted to get one. It is really nice to see your notifications and be able to text people back from your watch. I also love using the "breathe" function twice a day and the fitness apps work great. I am still trying to figure out all of the functions but so far it is an amazing little wearable device!
Honorable Mentions:
Shows - Stranger Things and Riverdale
Food - candy corn, apple pie and soup
What to Wear - Navy Ceremonies
Monday, September 25 • attire, fashion, girly, milso, navy wife, navy-life, quick guide, san diego blogger
Its that time of year again.... Ball Season!! I am a total sucker for a reason to get dressed up (sometimes I dress up just to go out to dinner with my hubby) so when ball season comes around I get really excited!
I remember Roxy (from Army Wives) being worried about the "dress code" she would have to abide by after Trevor went to OCS. I found this part of the show funny because there isn't really a dress code for spouses on a normal day. I have definitely shown up to spouse meetings in my Navy sweatshirt and leggings but have also show up in a preppy Lilly dress so I personally think anything goes. However, when it comes to events and balls, there is definitely an unspoken dress code. From what I've experienced, it is best to wear modest clothes but still show off you sense of style - you can do this by wearing a chunky necklace or some adorable peep-toe heels!
I wanted to share some of the outfits I have worn to Navy ceremonies since Daniel has been in. Also, I am the kind of person who doesn't want to spend a ton on formal clothes since I don't really get a chance to wear them that often. So, all of the dresses I listed below are $80 and under!
OCS Dinner - The OCS dinner was more on the formal side so I opted to wear this red dress that I picked up from H&M almost a year prior. I didn't have a good sweater to wear so I paired it with my professional blazer to give the dress a professional/formal look.
OCS Graduation - OCS graduation was a little on the less formal side. It was in an auditorium and was a short ceremony so I didn't dress up too much. I ordered this dress from Red Dress Boutique about a month before heading to Rhode Island. I knew it was going to be chilly there so I made sure to pick up a cute oversized scarf to wear with it. If I could change one thing about this outfit, I would ditch the heels. We did a lot of walking and heels weren't really the best choice for shoes.
Merlot Dress (linked similar) // Heels
Navy Ball - This was my first ball so I had no idea what to wear! I went shopping with my gal-pal who had been to a Marine Ball before and she helped me pick out this dress. I originally found a dress similar to it at the mall but didn't want to pay over $200 for a dress I would wear once. So I headed over to Lulu's online and found this perfect dress for the perfect price! A simple yet elegant dress is always a good option for the ball. However, I did see some cinderella style dresses that had sequins and I also saw 3-5 ladies wearing short dresses. So I guess it is whatever you feel most comfortable in!
Wining Ceremony - Again, I had no idea what to wear for the winging ceremony! A couple senior spouses had told me to wear nice Sunday church attire so I tried to match that. Keep in mind that you will be going on stage (above the crowd) to pin on wings; so, when finding an outfit, think about how it will look from the audiences' point of view (aka not too short). In the end, I think my simple black long sleeve dress was perfect. It wasn't too dressy but it didn't look casual either. I would recommend either a simple dress or a cute summer dress for an event like this!
I hope you all have a wonderful ball/ceremony with your military member!

6 Last Min Valentine's Day Gifts
Saturday, February 11 • attire, fashion, gifts, girly, graphic art, quick guide, round up, southern belle
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! For those of you, like me, who haven't gotten their gifts for the special day yet, this is a quick guide. Most of these can be picked up in your local department store or shipped to you by Tuesday if you order today and pick fast shipping.
1. Heart Sweatshirt - Get her a cute sweatshirt that she can wear out but also wear while relaxing on the couch during movie night.
2. Heels - You can never go wrong with a cute pair of shoes for that special girl in your life. If you don't know her size, ask her friends!
3. Phone Case - This is simple yet thoughtful. I personally love phone covers so I think it is a good gift if you want to get her something special but not too expensive. This, paired with flowers, is also a great last min gift.
4. Necklace - Pick up a cute necklace from a little boutique and you're bound to see her smile this Valentine's Day. Pay attention to what colors she wears a lot and if she likes bold or simple necklaces.
5. Her Favorite Lipstick - This one might be a little more challenging if you don't know what her favorite lipstick is. If you aren't totally sure, get a gift receipt so she can exchange it.
6. Dress - If you're planning a nice night out then give her a dress she can wear to it! A cute idea is to give her the dress, tell her to wear it that night, and then surprise her with a night on the town. Its also a plus if she can wear the dress more than once!
Remember, sometimes its the smallest, most thoughtful gifts, that mean the most to the special person in your life. :) I hope y'all have a wonderful day! Let me know in the comments what you would love to get for Valentine's Day.

My favorite trend is the white shoe trend! Everywhere I go, I see white shoes. If you haven't already, make sure you have a pair in your closet. I'm absolutely loving the Adidas Superstar sneakers because they remind me of middle school and are so comfy! I also love having a pair of white sandals in my closet to complete any look. Below you can click on the words to pick up some of these adorable shoes -
Adidas Superstar // Converse // Flats (I'm also loving snake skin flats this season!) // Sandals // Keds

I hope you enjoy pairing your white shoes with the perfect outfit this season!
House Tour: Part 2 - The Kitchen
Tuesday, July 12 • decorating, diy, fashion, florida, girly, interior decor, milso, navy wife, navy-life, photography, quick guide, room tour, round up, southern belle
This room is my favorite in the entire house. It is what
sold us when the realtor was giving us a tour: the kitchen! Backstory: Daniel and I are constantly in the
kitchen and love to have wide-open spaces, lots of storage and plenty of
counter space. We also like black appliances (yes, we are a little weird and
picky about kitchens). And this kitchen has absolutely everything we were
looking for.
House Tour: Part 1
Wednesday, June 15 • decorating, diy, engaged, fashion, girly, interior decor, milso, navy wife, navy-life, photography, quick guide, review, room tour, round up, southern belle, tips
At the beginning of the month, Daniel and I signed a lease for our first house together. We were able to move in right away, which was very nice after living in the Navy Gateway hotel for 12 days. Moving and loading/unloading the truck was the worst; however, unpacking our boxes in our new home was the best! I’m slowly getting everything put together, so these next few posts will be a series of “our new home, room-by-room.” I’ll try to post every Wednesday so keep an eye out for the rest of the tour. For today: the master bedroom and my closet (we have four closets so I’m going to feature one of the four).
The bedroom is a bit small, but has enough room for our bed and nightstands. Yes, those are Build-A-Bears that Daniel and I made for each other: “Jedi Steve” and “Princess Lillie.” The cubes that we use as night stands are actually from Walmart. They are made with strong composite wood and t-design which makes for a sturdy structure. They also look very nice. We chose the espresso finish because we found that it goes well with any color of bedspread.
While attending college at WSU, I purchased this New York City canvas print from Ross. Since it has traveled with me from Pullman to Spokane and now to Florida, it was the first picture to be hung in our new home here, in Florida.
The little details – pajamas // nail polish on a cake stand // shoebox full of electronic chargers // Lauree bag from a family trip to New York City // jewelry box // Build-A-Bear
One of the best parts of our bedroom: a walk-in closet. I’ve never had a walk-in closet so this is pretty amazing to me. On the left, I hung all of my work pants and skirts; in the middle, I have color and season coordinated the clothes; on the right, there are more of my work clothes and Daniel’s uniforms. I definitely have a “Pacific Northwest” closet with neutral colors. What can I say? Once a Washingtonian, always a Washingtonian. (: However, that being said, I am slowly adding some “Southern” personality to my closet.
While I was wandering through Target (one of my favorite pastimes), I found these really cool hangers. I love them because I can hang my favorite pairs of shorts and hook them together so they don’t occupy much room in my closet. These will also work well for work pants so I will be making another trip to Target soon!
Finally, in the corner I have my dresses and a few sweatshirts. I left most of the sweatshirts boxed-up since I will rarely need them here but I did pull out my favorites to hang up.
Well, I hope y’all enjoyed the first of my house tour! Let me know, in the Comments section, if you want to see anything else in the bedroom/closet. Check back next Wednesday for the next episode. Until then, have a good week!
How to Make a Gold Monogram in 10 Steps
Wednesday, February 17 • diy, girly, gold monogram, graphic art, how to, monogram, quick guide, southern belle
Have you always wanted to know how to make your own gold textured monogram photo? Well I did.. so I decided to figure it out and do a tutorial for everyone else!
1. Search Google for the "monogram kk" font and click on the first one from www.dafont.com. (P.S. Dafont has the best free fonts!)
2. Click on download on the right side of the webpage.
3. Once it is downloaded, open the file and double click on the "monogram kk sc.ttf" file. When you do this, you will need to follow the on screen instructions to download the font. This is how I did it on my Mac but it is a very similar process on a Windows computer!
4. Go to www.picmonkey.com (my absolute favorite place to edit and create photos) and hover your mouse over "design" at the top of the page and click on square. This will take you to a screen that looks like the photo below. From there, click on "Tt" and then "yours" under add text. You will then select the new font that you downloaded and click "add text."
5. Type your initials into 3 SEPARATE text boxes, set each initial size and then move them together. I set my initials to the sizes 450, 720 and 450. You can play around with the font size to create your favorite look! Also, if you aren't aware, monogrammed initials usually go: first, last, middle or wife, last, husband.
6. You will then need to click on the button in the grey bar above your picture that looks like 2 sheets with a down arrow. When you click on it, you are combining the layers and saving your initials the way they are (so make sure they are perfect before you combine).
7. Go back to Google and search gold foil (or whatever color you want) in images. For this project, I used the first one in the second row. Make sure you save the Google image to your desktop or downloads folder.
8. Under the overlays tab (butterfly picture) click on "your own." Then upload the gold foil photo you saved in the last step. Expand the image to cover your entire monogram and then select "add" under blend modes. From there, you can move the photo around to get your desired look. Feel free to play around with different colors and shades to make it unique to you!
9. Save your monogram by selecting "save" in the grey bar at the top of your canvas.
10. Set your monogram as your background photo on your computer, print it out and frame it or just look at how pretty it is! Please note that this font cannot be used for resale so you cannot sell any monograms that you have created using this method.
